Using your National Geographic Junior Adjustable Metal Detector is easy. First, insert the required batteries (1x 9V Alkaline battery for the detector and 3x AAA batteries for the LED lamp). Then, adjust the handle to a comfortable length between 65cm and 83cm according to your height. Turn on the detector and start scanning areas where you think there might be buried treasures. When the detector senses a metallic object, it will emit a buzzer sound, and the sound will get louder as you get closer to the object. You can also use the clip - in LED lamp in low - light conditions. When using it in shallow water, make sure the detector is suitable for such use and handle it with care. After use, turn off the detector and remove the batteries to prolong their life. Store the detector in a dry place to prevent damage.
